Annual appeal and letter from President Margaret Farrell Bruno
Dear North River Arts Society Members and Friends,
It really is true that “Time flies when you’re having fun”. That old adage is especially poignant for our organization this Fall. Last month we reached a significant milestone for the North River Arts Society with the dedication and opening of our new building.
The construction of the NRAS Firehouse, completed in October, is the culmination of our vision to continue expanding our education offerings and the culture of arts in Marshfield. Through the hard work and dedication of our Board, Donors and Sponsors, and many people in the organization, we have finished the Firehouse project. We celebrated this accomplishment in late October with a Halloween themed dance and ribbon cutting ceremony attended enthusiastically by many of our supporters and friends. The Firehouse project was privately funded by the organization and it’s donors, and has been paid for in full, with no need for loans, etc.... During this difficult economic climate we are proud of the fact that we have been able to sustain a privately funded building project and continue to expand our reach and educational offerings. If you have not visited the North River Arts Society lately, I urge you to plan on attending our Holiday Art Sale during Veterans Day this weekend to enjoy the wonderful Art and Artisan creations offered for sale and to see our beautiful new building. The Firehouse will host area Artisans and their products, which I’m sure you will find perfect for gift giving during the holiday season.
We are pleased and proud to report that the health of our organization is sound, with growing interest from the Community we serve. Our financial and fiscal house is in order, with a balanced budget and expanded offerings. We have wonderful new members joining our community of artists while the Board and its Committees are actively planning the following events: The NRAS Members Show, The NRAS Annual Meeting, The 2012 Poster Competition, and the 2012 Spring Festival of the Arts and Juried Show event.

This annual fund raising appeal represents an important portion of our operating funds. This year we plan to use many of the dollars raised to supplement the needs of our new classrooms. Your generosity will help us to continue delivering quality events and expanded programs.
