BASIC DRAWING SKILLS FOR THE YOUNG ARTIST

Session I: LEARN HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY DRAW A HORSE!
January 23 - March 5 6 weeks no class 2/20

Students will use charcoal to assemble the basic geometric shapes to construct the general shape of a horse. As the course progresses, they will continually refine the form until it becomes a realistic drarwing of the horse. Along the way, they will learn basic drawing techniques that can be applied to other objects.

DRAWING & PAINTING: Skills for Preschool & kindergarten

Children will be drawing from still life and everyday objects to create a sketchbook using charcoal and pencil.Students will go home each week with a new project and skills to build on. They will paint with watercolor, acrylic and will use pastel and chalk.This is a positive and creative environment. Lots of fun, with free drawing time at the beginning of each lesson. Max. of 12

Exploring Color Through Drawing and Painting

In this course, the basic principles of color in nature will be explored through the use of various drawing tools and painting media. Students will work from simple indoor still lifes and outdoor landscapes, weather permitting. Learn color mixing with a full palette and to see and use color relationships to create form and describe types of light. Basic principles of design and composition will also be addressed. Individual attention- all levels welcome.
