Annual Appeal

Dear Members and Friends,

Thank you for your past support of the North River Arts Society (NRAS).  In my first year as President of NRAS, I had the privilege to meet many of you in person and hear about your interest and commitment to the arts.

During several of our events, I overheard the following comments:  About the Festival of Arts:  “Wow!  This is such a great event for the whole family.  My kids can’t wait to participate in the giant puppet parade next time.  We are so lucky to have this kind of arts activity in our own neighborhood!”  About some art exhibits: "A great place to both buy and sell art,” "I am always blown away by the quality of the work here,”  "From emerging artists to established - they are all here,” and “It’s amazing how many artists got their start here"

At North River Arts, we believe in expanding access to art experiences for everyone and we are determined to cultivate the belief that art enhances not only the spirit and soul of the individual, but the community as well.

In this, our 51st year of community involvement, we are proud of our achievements, among them:

  • Our classes/workshops have the highest enrollment they have ever had in the history of North River Arts

  • Our inclusive themed perimeter shows have grown from small shows of 20 works to vibrant exhibitions of 100+ works (in 2019 we had COOL, ESCAPE and COLOR)

  • The Memorial Day weekend Festival of the Arts 2019 had record breaking art sales

  • Our Focus on Figures Exhibit garners national and international submissions (this year attracted participants from California, Dubai, France and England)

  • We awarded scholarships and tuition assistance to those with financial needs

  • We serve at-risk youth in a local shelter through an immersive art project

In addition, we showcase our member artists during rotating exhibits at the Dolphin Gallery at the Hingham Public Library and the Jeanne Horan Gallery at the Ventress Memorial Library in Marshfield, as well as in our Perimeter Shows at the G.A.R. Hall. Throughout the year, we host special events, including our Members Show, Focus on Figures, the Marshfield Student Art Show, Outside the Box, Brew-Ha-Ha!, the Holiday Art Show, the Annual Festival of the Arts, and more!

We have always looked to you, our supporters, to be the wind beneath our wings, and today your support is vital to our efforts to bring the arts to our community. Your support continues to be needed!   Won’t you please click the donate button to make a tax-deductible donation today, or send a check to North River Arts Society, P.O. Box 307, Marshfield Hills, MA 02051

Together we will make 2020 a strong year for North River Arts Society and a place for us to gather, learn, and enjoy the arts in our community.

Warmest wishes for the holidays, and thank you!

With appreciation,

Anne Bohsack
