Portfolio Development for High School Students with Mike DiRado

This 10-week class is for high school students who wish and are required to present a portfolio of artwork to supplement their college applications. Working in a supportive, small group, studio setting, the objective of the class is to help students start to develop and refine their portfolios as well as to develop skills that will prepare them to be successful in a college art program. The students will also be guided in creating key pieces that specific art schools, such as the Rhode Island School of Design require. 

Mike DiRado recently retired after a 25-year career as a teacher in the Abington Public Schools. During that time, he also served as the Department Chair of Visual Arts, K-12. Mr. DiRado attended Mass College of Art and Design for his undergraduate degree and Pratt Institute for graduate art education.
