Collage is Marcias’ medium. She uses a palette of papers, cloth, paint or threads. The process is slow and applied with deliberate and spontaneous applications. She create color gestures and intuitive patterns with paint for ’atmosphere’ and then assembles papers with acrylic mediums. They go together like a jigsaw puzzle. The compositions of abstract dances of color with a realistically painted favorite created dropped in create a scene for the eye. Marcia's goal is to evoke Joy.

A long time member and supporter off North River Arts. Marcia has been creating collage for 30 years. Her paintings are in private, corporate and Museum collections. Marcia's visual reference has been the brilliance of flowers. Using abstract collage elements: contract, repetition and layering that lead to there own creative magic.

Join Laura Harvey for a 2-hour demo where she will discuss her process, materials and inspiration. Laura is a talented multimedia artists who create intricate layered pieces in an intuitive manner. This demo will serve as a fundraiser for NRAS.

As a mixed media artist, Laura creates intricate layered collages on a variety of substrates; from canvas and traditional birch panels to hollow-core doors. To intuitively build each piece, Laura draws from a rich and unique collection of media and vintage ephemera, building layers using paint, papers (found, purchased or hand painted), acrylic mediums, graphite, photo transfers and more. She derives a storyteller's satisfaction watching each piece evolve during the creative process - from the initial blur of an idea to a completed visual.
