Intuitive Abstract Painting with Kelley MacDonald

Kelley will invite the you to view and understand the process behind painting in an intuitive manner. Using many tools, mark makers and paint I will show the unfolding of this type of non-objective painting. Concealing marks, as well as brushwork, and revealing it in other place, using paint opacity and transparency, we will see a painting develop. Kelley will be working on a couple of pieces at a time, hopefully using different writing, painting and drawing tools, and demonstrate the development of this type of loose, free and colorful work.

Kelley has been painting and making art for 40 years. She has won numerous awards and loves teaching painting.  She was a watercolor painter first, then an oil painter and now has found her joy in the acrylic medium.  Until 3 years ago she was strictly a representational painter, but discovered the world of Intuitive Abstracts and is enthusiastically exploring this exciting method every day.  Kelley loves to travel and paint plein air as well, and has painted in Holland, Canada, numerous times in Mexico as well as across the United States.  Living in Providence RI after a couple of decades on the South Shore of Boston, she is an exhibiting member of the Providence Art Club and a devoted member of the North River Arts Society.
