This Master Class in the study of the head has been designed to enable students of painting to depict the human head more successfully in oil, and is open to students of all levels. Emphasizing a beginning strategy in oil, students will be guided through practical application on three separate, 1 session portraits—tackling movement, the planes of light and shadow, color development  and transitions into a subtle and effective result.  Given the benefits of becoming more decisive with brushstroke manipulation and proficient with edge control, this opportunity to explore constructive interpretations of the head and its subdivisions promises a greater depth of understanding in student painting as well as drawing.

Materials: Bring your preferred canvases, brushes and paints.
